Tolliver Leads Bearcats in Final Round of Willamette Valley Cup at Creekside

SALEM, Ore. -- Mallory Tolliver (Fy., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington HS) shot a 95 in the second round of the Willamette Valley Cup in women's golf to lead three Bearcats on Sunday, March 19. The 36-hole tournament was hosted at Creekside Golf Club by Willamette University.

Tolliver, who shot 101 in the first round on Saturday, finished the tournament at 196. Anushka Srivastav (So., Pune, India/Mahindra International School) of Willamette, who also carded a score of 101 in the first round, shot 97 in the second round to conclude the weekend at 198. Kennedy Raphelt (Jr., Canyon Country, CA) of WU ended the two rounds at 223 (110-113).

Haley Brown of Southern Oregon University won the individual title at 164. She shot an 85 in the first round and improved to  79 in the second round to claim first place by 11 strokes. Her 79 on Sunday was the low round of the tournament. Analise Aubin from Bushnell University (Ore.) took second place at 175 by shooting 82-93. Kaila Bonawitz from the University of Puget Sound was third at 176 (84-92).

A tie for fourth place featured Sofia Lavinder of Puget Sound and Thrya Altvatter from Southern Oregon, both at 178. Lavinder carded 86-92 and Altatter shot 96-82. Nikki Tabios from Pacific University was sixth with a score of 179 (86-93) and Avery Arnold, also from Pacific, placed seventh at 180 (85-95).

Southern Oregon won the team championship by rallying from a 5-stroke deficit after Saturday's 18 holes. On Sunday, the Raiders shot 349 to offset their first round score of 361 and finish at 710 overall. Pacific, which led the team standings with a score of 355 in the first round, shot 371 in the second round. The Boxers placed second in the final standings at 726, as SOU won by 16 strokes. Puget Sound shto 760 (378-382) for third place. Willamette, Bushnell, and Lewis & Clark College did not field complete teams.
