Srivastav and Tolliver Participate in First Round of NWC Spring Classic

POST FALLS, Idaho -- Anushka Srivastav (So., Pune, India/Mahindra International School) and Mallory Tolliver (Fy., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington HS) competed for the Willamette University women's golf team during the first round of the 2023 Northwest Conference Spring Classic at The Links Golf Club on Saturday, April 1.

The NWC Spring Classic is one of three tournaments used to determine the overall Northwest Conference champion each season. The NWC Spring Classic is worth one-fourth of the title and the NWC Fall Classic is worth one-fourth of the title. The NWC Tournament, set for April 22-23, is worth one-half of the title.

Srivastav carded a score of 97 at the NWC Spring Classic on Saturday. Tolliver ended the round with a 98. Action at the tournament will conclude on Sunday, April 2 with the second round.

After 18 holes in challenging weather conditions, Alison Takamiya from George Fox University topped the individual leaderboard at even-par 73. Kiana Toole, also from George Fox, was second at 3-over par 76. Maddie Hahn of Whitworth University held third place with an 80. Liana Brown of GFU and Cindy Luo from Whitman College were tied for fourth place at 83. Avery Kageyama of George Fox wa in sixth place with an 84. Three golfer -- Katya Kurkoski from Whitman, Sarah Rhodes of Pacific Lutheran University, and Nikki Tabios from Pacific University -- were tied for seventh place with scores of 85.

George Fox led the team standings with a score of 316. Whitworth was in second at 339, while Pacific was third at 357. Whitman followed in fourth place, one stroke behind the Boxers at 358. Pacific Lutheran was fifth at 368, the University of Puget Sound was sixth at 374, and Linfield University was seventh at 403. Willamette and Lewis & Clark College did not enter full teams.
