Srivastav Earns Career-Best Round of 87 in First Round of Bulldog Invitational

BEAUMONT, Calif. -- Anushka Srivastav (Sr., Pune, India/Mahindra International School) of Willamette University shot a career-low round of 87 in the first round of the Bulldog Fall Invitational on Monday, Sept. 25 at the Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon. The 36-hole tournament is hosted by the University of Redlands. Action will conclude with the second round on Tuesday, Sept. 26.

Srvistav registered eight pars during the round. She started on hole #7 and finished with a score of 45 on the front nine (holes 1-9) and a 42 on the back nine (holes 10-18).

Also competing for Willamette in the first round were Mallory Tolliver (So., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington HS) and Roberta Moore (So., Lakewood, WA/Lakes HS/Lewis & Clark College). Tolliver shot 95 for the 18 holes, while Moore registered a score of 100.

Andrea York form Redlands led the field with a 3-under 69. She held a two-stroke lead over Anna Poulin of California Lutheran University, who held second place at 1-under 71. Jordyan Janet was third with an even-par score of 72. Cristen Legaspi of Hope International (Calif.) and Charlotte Griffen of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) tied for fourth place at 1-over 73.

In the team standings, Redlands led the way with a three-stroke lead and a score of 295. Embry-Riddle followed with a score of 298 and Hope International was third at 312. California Lutheran and the University of La Verne were tied for fourth place at 317. Menlo College held sixth place at 320. Chapman University was seventh with a score of 323, while the University of California, Santa Cruz was eighth at 325 and Schreiner University (Texas) was ninth at 346. Willamette and Lewis & Clark College did not field complete team.
