Bohn Shoots an 83 for Willamette during First Round of NWC Fall Classic

McMINNVILLE, Ore. -- Haley Bohn (Fy., Arlington, TX/The Oakridge School) shot an 83 in her first round of college competition to lead Willamette University on the first day of the Northwest Conference Fall Classic in women's golf on Saturday, Oct. 14 at Michelbook Country Club.

Bohn shot an 8-over 45 on the front nine, but carded a 3-over 38 on the back nine, ending with a birdie on the par-5 18th hole. She was 21st on the leaderboard.

Anushka Srivastav (Sr., Pune, India/Mahindra International School) of Willamette shot a 93. Mallory Tolliver (So., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington HS) provided the Bearcats with a 101.

Liana Brown of George Fox University topped the individual standings with a score of 2-under par 70. She held a three-stroke lead over teammate Alison Takamiy of GFU, who concluded the opening round in second place with a 73.

Three golfers were tied for third place at 74. They were Bead Boonta of Pacific University, and Ellena Jeong and Cindy Luo of Whitman College. Ainsley Carter from George Fox was sixth at 75. Stella Fergin of Whitworth and Makensie Toole of GFU were tied for seventh at 76. Kaila Bondawitz from the University of Puget Sound was ninth with a 77, and Brigitte Fenton of Whitworth was 10th with a 78.

George Fox was at the top of the team leaderboard with a first round score of 6-over par 294. Whitworth was second at 313 and Whitman was third at 315. Pacific Lutheran University followed in fourth place at 328, with Pacific in fifth at 330, Linfield University in sixth at 364, and Puget Sound in seventh at 366. Willamette and Lewis & Clark College did not enter a full team in the tournament, which will conclude on Sunday, Oct. 15 with the second round.
