Ohsman Named NWC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week

SALEM, Ore. -- Anabel Ohsman (So., ATT, Shohomish, WA/Glacier Peak HS) of Willamette University has been chosen as the Northwest Conference Women's Lacrosse Student-Athlete of the Week for games played from Monday, March 18 through Sunday, March 24. Ohsman is the first player on Willamette's inaugural women's lacrosse team to receive the honor.

Willamette competed in just one game during the week, but it was a bit one for Ohsman and the Bearcats. Ohsman scored a school record nine goals and added one assist for 10 total points in Willamette's 18-14 victory at the University of Dallas on Sunday. She set school records for goals in a game and total points in a game. She tied a WU record with 11 total shots and established a record with 11 shots on goal. Ohsman also earned five ground balls, three draw controls and two caused turnovers against the Crusaders.

Ohsman scored the game's first goal just 1:11 into the game and had four goals at halftime. She added five goals in the second half. The Bearcats trailed 8-4 with 5:35 left in the first half, but outscored the Crusaders 14-6 the rest of the way.

Willamettes is playing at Southwestern University (Texas) today in Georgetown, Texas. The Bearcats will remain in Georgetown to take on University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Wednesday, March 27 at 2 p.m. (CST)/12 p.m. (PDT), . This weekend, the Bearcats will play two Northwest Conference games at home when they host Pacific University on Saturday, March 30 and take on Linfield College on Sunday, March 31. Both games will start at 1 p.m. (PDT).
