SALEM, Ore. -- The Willamette University women's lacrosse game against the Whitman College Blues scheduled for Sunday, April 28 has been canceled because Whitman chose to cancel their appearance. The canceled game is a 1-0 win for the Bearcats and is also considered a no-contest result, which means that Willamette does not get a win added to its overall record, but the win will count in the Northwest Conference standings for both teams.

Willamette is still scheduled to play Whitworth University in an NWC game on Saturday, April 27 at Sparks Field. Game time is set for 1 p.m. (PDT). It will be Senior Day for the Bearcats, who will honor the team's seniors prior to the start of the game.

The Bearcats and the Pirates are both in their first season of competition. Willamette defeated Whitworth in the first meeting between the two teams, 13-9, on April 6 in Spokane, Washington.
