SALEM, Ore. -- Willamette University forward Shanna Keil (Jr., Danville, CA/San Ramon Valley HS) has been selected as the Northwest Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week for her efforts in conference games on Sept. 12 and Sept. 15. Keil helped the Bearcats go 1-0-1 during the week by tying Linfield College, 2-2 in two overtimes, and edging past Lewis & Clark College, 1-0 in two overtimes.

Against Linfield at Sparks Field on Sept. 12, Keil scored twice, including the game-tying goal at 80:59, as both teams opened NWC action. She earned 7 total shots and 4 shots on goal against the Wildcats, and then took 5 total shots with 3 shots on goal at Lewis & Clark on Sept. 15.

Keil's first goal versus Linfield was on a shot from 18 yards that went high off the goalie's outstretched hands and into the upper part of the net. Karmen Chavez-Sam (Sr., D, Eastvale, CA/Eleanor Roosevelt HS) assisted on the play. The tying goal completed an individual run by Keil after she intercepted a pass just over 40 yards from goal. Keil shot from 18 yards into the middle of the goal.

The Bearcats are 5-0-1 on the season. Keil is the team's leading scorer with 5 goals and 1 assist for 11 points.

Willamette will play two NWC games at home this weekend. The Bearcats will host University of Puget Sound at Sparks Field on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 12 p.m. (PDT) and will take on George Fox University on Sunday, Sept. 23, also at 12 p.m.
