Kam Earns First Team All-Northwest Conference Honors

SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University women's tennis player Tiffany Kam (Sr., Pearl City, HI/Punahou School) has been named First Team All-Northwest Conference for the 2008 season, as determined by the NWC head coaches. Kam and seven other athletes received First Team honors, while six players were named to the Second Team.

Kam played #1 singles throughout the season and played #2 doubles for most of the year. She also played several matches at #1 doubles. Her overall singles record was 5-16, including 5-11 in NWC matches. She was 10-11 in doubles, including 9-7 at the #2 position with teammate Abby Funabiki (Jr., Pullmnan, WA/Pullman HS). Kam and Funabiki were 8-4 in the conference.

Willamette finished the regular season at 8-11, including 8-8 in the NWC. The Bearcats qualified for the NWC Tournament and finished in sixth place. Key wins for the Bearcats included a 5-4 victory over Pacific Lutheran University on March 14 and a 5-4 triumph over Lewis & Clark College on April 5.
