SALEM, ORE. -- The second day of action in Wilson/ITA Women's Tennis Small College Northwest Regional was held on Saturday, Sept. 29 at Willamette University and the Courthouse Tennis Club in Salem, Ore. Matches in both singles and doubles advanced through the quarterfinals. All of the semifinals are scheduled to be played on Sunday, Sept. 30.
In singles, Kasey Kuenzli of Linfield College will take on Lisa Harunaga of Lewis & Clark College in one of the semifinal matches. The other semifinal in singles will feature Elise Otto of Whitman College against Amalia Nilsson of Lewis & Clark.
Singles Quarterfinals:
Kasey Kuenzli (Linfield) defeated Alaine Anderson (Willamette), 6-2, 6-1
Lisa Harunaga (Lewis & Clark) defeated Sophie Larson (Linfield), 6-2, 6-4
Elise Otto (Whitman) defeated Erika Feltus (Pacific Lutheran), 6-3, 6-1
Amalia Nilsson (Lewis & Clark) defeated Tiffany Kam (Willamette), 6-2, 6-0
In doubles, Sallie Katter and Kasey Kuenzli of Linfield College will play Margo Lentz and Elise Otto of Whitman in one of the semifinal matches on Sunday. The second semifinal match will be between Ashley Coats and Erika Feltus of Pacific Lutheran and Lisa Harunaga and Amalia Nilsson of Lewis & Clark.
Doubles Quarterfinals:
Sallie Katter and Kasey Kuenzli (Linfield) defeated Alyssa Morrison and Becca Younger (Willamette), 8-2
Margo Lentz and Elise Otto (Whitman) defeated Alaine Anderson and Tiffany Kam (Willamette), 8-4
Ashley Coats and Erika Feltus (Pacific Lutheran) defeated Katie Schultz and Samantha Taylor (Puget Sound), 8-2
Lisa Harunaga and Amalia Nilsson (Lewis & Clark) defeated Hadley DeBree and Divneet Kaur of Whitman, 8-3
The Wilson/ITA Women's Tennis Small College Northwest Regional continues on Sunday, Sept. 30. If the weather is good, matches will be held at the Willamette University Courts. If the weather is not good, matches will be held at the Courthouse Tennis Club.
