Bearcats Take on Pacific Tennis Players to Open Four-Way Invitational

McMINNVILLE, Ore. -- Willamette University women's tennis players took on Pacific University athletes in nine singles flights and four doubles flights to start the Four-Way Invitational on Friday, Sept. 16 at Linfield College. The flighted tournament will continue on Saturday, with Willamette's athletes taking on players from George Fox and Linfield to complete the round-robin format.

Earning wins for the Bearcats in singles were Noemi Cruz-Cruz (Jr., Galt, CA/Liberty Ranch HS) at the #8 flight and Allie DiPasquale (So., Seattle, WA/Seattle Academy) in the #9 flight. Cruz-Cruz prevailed against Angie Tran of Pacific, 6-4, 6-3. DiPasquale downed Sydney Anderson of Pacific, 6-4, 6-2.

Pacific won all of the remaining singles flights. The Boxers also won the four doubles matches.
