Fox is Selected for All-Tournament Team at Prairie Wolf Invitational

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Willamette University outside hitter Kendall Fox (So., Dupont, WA/Steilacoom HS) has been named to the All-Tournament Team at the Prairie Wolf Invitational, hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University from Sept. 9-10. Fox helped the Bearcats earn two wins and two losses during the tournament, including a 3-2 win over previously undefeated University of Wisconsin-Platteville. UWP was 7-0 before falling to the Bearcats.

Fox was one of eight athletes chosen for the All-Tournament Team from the six squads competing over the weekend. Also selected for the honor were Ali Grein and Jade Schaap from Buena Vista University (Iowa), Morgan Taylor from Simpson College (Iowa), Bridget Ringwald from Westminster College (Mo.), Ashlee Moore from UW-Platteville, and Lizzie Saale and Karrie Sestak from Nebraska Wesleyan. Saale was named Most Valuable Player.

During the weekend, Fox played in all 15 sets and recorded 31 kills for 2.07 kills per set. She also earned 11 digs (0.73 per set) and five block assists (0.33 per set). In the win over UW-Platteville, Fox pounded out a team-high 11 kills to go along with five digs and one block assist.

The Bearcats will return to action on Friday, Sept. 15 when they open Northwest Conference action in McMinnville, Oregon, against archrival Linfield College. Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m. (PDT). Willamette will play its NWC home opener on Saturday, Sept. 16 against Pacific University at 7 p.m. The match against Pacific will be part of Homecoming/Alumni Weekend.
