SALEM, ORE. -- Five Willamette University cross country runners have received All-Academic status from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2010 season. Three members of the Willamette men's team and two runners on the Bearcat women's team were chosen for the All-Academic award.
WAVERLY, IOWA -- Willamette University men's cross country runner Stefan Redfield (Sr., Sisters, OR/Sisters HS) and WU women's cross country runner Kimber Mattox (So., Bend, OR/Bend HS/Cornell Univ.) earned All-America honors at the 2010 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 20. The 8-kilometer men's race and the 6-kilometer women's race were hosted by Wartburg College. The top 35 runners in each race earned All-America recognition.

The meet was held at Pre's Trail in Alton Baker Park. Castillo recorded a time of 24:38.62.
OREGON CITY, ORE. -- Kimber Mattox (So., Bend, OR/Bend HS/Cornell Univ.) of Willamette University placed second overall behind unattached runner Christine Babcock in the women's 5-kilometer race at the Mike Hodges Invitational, hosted by Clackamas Community College on Friday, Oct. 15. Babcock won the race in 17:15.18. Mattox registered a time of 17:56.88 as the top collegiate finisher.
