Bearcats Compete at Sundowner Classic in Monmouth

MONMOUTH, Ore. -- Several Willamette University cross country runners competed at the Sundowner Invitational, hosted by Western Oregon University. The meet, held at the Ash Creek Preserve, featured a 6-kilometer women's race and an 8-kilometer men's race. The Bearcats did not enter a complete team in either race.

The top finisher for Willamette in the women's competition was Andrea Griffin (Fy., Eugene, OR/Elmira HS) with a time of 25:08.3. Molly Murphy-Brown (So., Sandy, OR/Sandy HS) completed the course in 25:42.0. For the Bearcat men's team, Carson Herrick (So., Newberg, OR/Newberg HS) was the first finisher. He registered a time of 28:06.5.

A group of Bearcats will participate in the Carleton Invitational in Northfield, Minnesota, on Saturday, Sept. 21. The meet will be held on the Carleton College campus. Action will begin at 10:30 a.m. (CDT)/8:30 a.m. (PDT).
