SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University senior punter Clinton Moran (Mission Viejo, CA/Capistrano Valley HS) has been selected as the Northwest Conference Football Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts in Willamette's 32-14 win at Menlo College on Saturday, Oct. 20. Moran placed two of his three punts inside the Menlo 20-yard line and averaged 36.7 yards per punt.

Moran's punting skills were needed just three times during the game, but he responded by twice pinning the Oaks inside their own 20. All three of his kicks were downed by the Bearcats, with the first one marked at the Menlo 15 and the third one marked at the Menlo 13. His second punt also went into Menlo territory, where it was downed at the 30-yard line. Moran third punt was his longest of the day and covered 46 yards.

In addition to punting, Moran completed a two-point conversion pass to Neil Bergquist (So., DE, Edmonds, WA/Edmonds-Wooway HS) following a bad snap in the fourth quarter. Moran is Willamette's holder on extra points and field goals.

Moran is averaging 39.9 yards per punt this season. He has placed seven of 38 punts inside the 20-yard line.

The Bearcats will host Northwest Conference leader Whitworth University at McCulloch Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 27. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m. (PDT).
