MCMINNVILLE, Ore. — Willamette University and Linfield University played to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday at Linfield Soccer Field. Both teams found the net once, with the Bearcats taking the lead in the first half. Linfield equalized in the second half to secure the tie. The Bearcats managed 15 shots, with three on target, compared to Linfield's nine shots and two on goal. Both teams received one yellow card during the match.
Ky Iliev scored the lone goal for the Bearcats, finishing with one goal on five shots. Baylen Ponte contributed an assist, helping secure the team's scoring opportunity. Mikkel Jensen played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded one save on nine shots faced. Drew Alexander was active on offense with four shots, including one on goal.
The first half began with the Bearcats taking control early, as Iliev found the back of the net in the 4th minute with an assist from Ponte, putting the team ahead.
