Anderson Finishes Second in Triple Jump on First Day of Portland Meet

NEWBERG, Ore. -- Oliver Anderson (Jr., Salem, OR/Home Schooled) of Willamette University earned second place in the men's triple jump during the first day of the Portland Distance Carnival on Friday, May 13. Friday's schedule featured field events at Stoffer Family Stadium on the George Fox University campus. The two-day meet will conclude on Saturday, May 13 with track events at Eldon Fix Stadium on the Lewis & Clark College campus.

Anderson registered a top distance of 42' 8.25" on his second attempt of the prelims in the triple jump. He trailed only the winner, Akila Wickramaratna, who competed unattached and earned a mark of 43' 4.50". Isaac Brunk from George Fox placed third at 41' 3.75". Anderson cleared 40 feet on four other attempts, including one over 42 feet.
