Anderson Wins 100 Meters on Saturday, after Placing 2nd in Triple Jump on Friday

PORTLAND, Ore. – Willamette University junior Oliver Anderson (Salem, OR/Home Schooled) had a pair of strong showings at the Portland Distance Carnival, hosted by Lewis & Clark College on Saturday, May 14. He ran to a win in the 100-meter dash after taking second placed in the triple jump on Friday. The triple jump was held at George Fox University.

Anderson matched his career-best with a time of 10.91 seconds to win at 100 meters, placing first in his heat to post the top time in the event. He bested a strong field as the top four runners competed in the Anderson's heat as well. He previously clocked a 10.91 in the prelims at the Northwest Conference Championships in April.

In the triple jump, Anderson cleared 42' 8.25" to place second in that event. He posted his silver medal distance on his second attempt.
