    SALEM, ORE. -- Four years of hard work in the Bearcat women's basketball program came to fruition for team captain Sophie Wilson (Sr., G, Port Townsend, WA/Port Townsend HS), as she was selected for Honorable Mention recognition on the 2012-13 All-Northwest Conference team.

    McMINNVILLE, ORE. -- Linfield College built a 34-20 halftime lead and went on to defeat a short-handed Willamette University team, 66-45, on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at Ted Wilson Gymnasium, in the final regular season game for both teams.

    SALEM, ORE. -- Whitworth University sank 20 of 23 free throws and scored 15 points off turnovers, as the Pirates defeated Willamette University, 66-53, on Saturday, Feb. 16 at Cone Field House. Emily Travis made 9 of 11 free throws and scored a game-high 23 points for the Pirates, while Kendra Lahue added 18 points and hit 6 of 7 three-point shots.
  • Whitman Plays Strong Defense in Victory over Bearcats

    SALEM, ORE. -- Whitman College held Willamette University to 23.4% shooting from the field, as the Missionaries defeated the Bearcats, 75-34, on Friday, Feb. 15 at Cone Field House. Willamette hit just 11 of 47 shots during the game. Whitman shot 48.5% from the field (32 of 66), while making 16 of 33 field goals in each half.

The Boxers improved to 12-5 on the season, 5-4 in the NWC, while Willamette dropped to 1-17 overall, 1-8 in the NWC.

    WALLA WALLA, WASH. -- Whitman College connected on 12 of its first 16 shots to zoom out to a 24-4 lead in the first nine minutes, as the Missionaries started on their way to a 72-41 win over Willamette University in a Northwest Conference women's basketball game on Saturday, Jan. 19. Whitman shot 53.3% (32 of 60) for the game, including 65.5% in the first half (19 of 29).

    TACOMA, WASH. -- The University of Puget Sound built a 12-point lead in the first half and continued to pull away over the final 20 minutes, as the Loggers defeated Willamette University, 75-45, in a Northwest Conference women's basketball game on Friday, Jan. 4 at Memorial Fieldhouse. The Loggers moved to 9-4 on the season, 2-2 in the NWC.

    EUGENE, ORE. -- New Hope Christian College shot 58.9% from the floor (33 of 56) on it way to an 85-62 victory over visiting Willamette University, on Thursday, Dec. 6 at the Rexius Event Center. Win the win, New Hope Christian improved to 7-9 on the season. Willamette dropped to 0-8 overall.

The Warriors improved to 2-9 on the season, while the Bearcats dropped to 0-7.

Pacific improved to 4-0 on the season, 1-0 in the NWC. Willamette fell to 0-6, 0-1 in the NWC.
