Tolliver, Seelig, Raphelt Represent Bearcats on First Day of Pacific Invitational

BANKS, Ore. -- Mallory Tolliver (Fy., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington HS), Saida Seelig (Fy., Portland, OR/Wilson HS), and Kennedy Raphelt represented the Willamette University women's golf team on Saturday, Sept. 17, in the first round of the Pacific Invitational at Quail Valley Golf Course.

Tolliver and Seelig each carded a 99 for the Bearcats, while Raphelt shot 130.

Kaila Bondawitz of the University of Puget Sound held the lead for medalist honors after 18 holes with a 76. She was two strokes in front of Pacific Lutheran University's Emily Fisher at 78. Brenda Castillo Amparan from Pacific University was in third place at 79, with teammate Nikki Tabios, Whitman College's Cindy Luo, and Whitworth University's Madeline Hahn tied for fourth place at 80.  

Whitman held the team lead with a score of 333. Whitworth was in second place at 338, with PLU in third place at 357. Pacific trailed the Lutes by just one stroke at 358 for fourth in the standings. Linfield University was fifth at 385, Puget Sound was sixth at 386, and Lewis & Clark College was seventh at 427. With only three golfers, Willamette did not record a team score.

The tournament is scheduled to conclude with 18 holes at Quail Valley on Sunday, Sept. 18.
