Tolliver and Seelig Compete in First Round of Wildcat Invitational

McMINNVILLE, Ore. -- Mallory Tolliver (Fy., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington HS) and Saida Seelig (Fy., Portland, OR/Wilson HS) of Willamette University completed the first round of the Wildcat Invitational in women's golf, host by Linfield University at Michelbook Country Club on Saturday, Sept. 24. The 36-hole tournament will conclude with the second round, set for Sunday, Sept. 25.

Tolliver carded a score of 104 on Saturday. Seelig finished the round at 105.

Liana Brown led four George Fox University golfers at the top of the individual standings, as she shot 1-under 71 for a two stroke lead. Alison Takamiya of GFU was second at 1-over 73, while Makensie Toole of GFU placed third at 3-over par 75. Avery Kageyama earned fourth place for the Bruins with a 77. Josie Daywitt of Linfield and Kiana Tooe of George Fox tied for fifth at 84. A total of 27 competitors completed the first round.

GFU held first place by 70 strokes with a team score of 8-over-par 296. Pacific University was second at 366, with Linfield just behind the Boxers in third place at 367. The University of Puget Sound was third overall at 401. Willamette did not field a full team.

On Sunday, Tolliver is scheduled to tee off at 9 a.m. (PDT) on the 10th hole. Seelig is set to begin play at 9:10 a.m., also on the 10th hole.
