Pashek and Oberg Go 2-0 in Doubles at Willamette Valley Four-Way on Sunday

McMINNVILLE, Ore. -- Robin Pashek (So., The Dalles, OR/The Dalles-Wahtonka HS) and Alyssa Oberg (Jr., Roseville, CA/Oakmont HS) of Willamette University won both of their doubles matches on Sunday, Sept. 8 at the Willamette Valley Four-Way on the Linfield College campus. The pair of wins allowed Pashek and Oberg to finish the tournament with a 2-1 doubles record.

Pashek and Oberg opened Sunday's schedule with an 8-5 win over Alyssa Byde and Emily McDonald of George Fox University. In the second match, Pashek and Oberg rolled past Kailei Eustis and Megan Meatte from Pacific University, 8-1.

Willamette players competed in three other doubles matches on Sunday. The Bearcats' team of Paisley Lieske (Fy., Seattle, WA/Vashon Island HS) and Rebecca Griffith (Fy., Fort Collins, CO/Rocky Mountain HS) fell to Danielle Brown and Olivia Morris of George Fox, 8-1. Yulia Heggestad (Fy., Blue Hill, ME/George Stevens Academy) and Analiese Terrazas (Fy., Santa Paula, CA/Santa Paula HS) of WU lost to Eustis and Meatte of Pacific, 8-0. In a match that pitted two Willamette doubles teams against each other, Lieske and Griffith defeated Heggestad and Terrazas, 8-2.

The Bearcats will be back in action later this month when they compete on the courts at Whitman College during the ITA Northwest Regional in Walla Walla, Washington. The tournament, which will feature one primary singles bracket and one primary doubles bracket, is set for Sept. 27-30.
