FOREST GROVE, Ore. – The Willamette University women's tennis team dropped its Northwest Conference opener at Pacific University on Sunday, March 6. The Boxers swept the Bearcats to improve to 2-4 overall and 1-2 in the NWC while Willamette slipped to 0-2 and 0-1 in the conference.

Ruby Blake (So., La Crosse, WI/Central HS) took a pair of games off Grace Truong in the second singles flight while Camille Gibney (Sr., La Crescenta, CA/Crescenta Valley HS) battled to claim three games in the number three spot. Pacific captured straight set wins in each singles flight.

The Bearcats return home to host George Fox University on Sunday, March 13. The match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. (PST).
