SALEM, Ore. — The University of Puget Sound swept Willamette University 25-17, 25-16, 25-21 on Friday at Cone Field House. Despite a competitive third set, the Bearcats were unable to overcome the Loggers' superior hitting percentage of .292 compared to .171. Puget Sound recorded 45 kills and 41 assists, effectively controlling the match's pace.
Dream Takemoto led the defensive effort with 20 digs across three sets. Caroline Jameson contributed 10 kills and three total blocks, resulting in 12 points for the team. Leina Chu directed the offense with 26 assists, adding one service ace. Katey Cramer finished with 11 kills and four digs, adding to the team's competitive edge.
The Bearcats hold an overall record of 3-7 and are 1-2 in conference play. The Loggers stand at 7-5 overall and are undefeated in conference matches with a 3-0 record.
