Kim is Selected as NWC Men's Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week

SALEM, Ore. -- Sophomore forward Sean Kim (Sunnyvale, CA/Homestead HS) of Willamette University has been named the NWC Men's Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week for his effort in games on Saturday, Oct. 16 and Sunday, Oct. 17. He assisted on the game-winning goal in Willamette's 3-2 victory at Pacific Lutheran University on Saturday. He scored the game-tying goal with 3:01 left in regulation to force overtime on Sunday, as the Bearcats grabbed a 2-2 tie at the University of Puget Sound.

Willamette earned a 1-0-1 record during the week to improve to 8-3-1 on the season. The Bearcats are in second place in the NWC standings at 6-2-1 (19 points). Pacific Lutheran leads the NWC at 7-2-0 (21 points).

In last week's games at PLU and Puget Sound, Kim took a total of six shots, including three shots on goal. Kim is Willamette's leading scorer for the season with 4 goals and 3 assists for 11 points. He also leads the Bearcats with 26 total shots and 13 shots on goal.

The Bearcats will host NWC rival George Fox University at Sparks Field on Saturday, Oct. 23. Game time is set for 2:30 p.m. (PDT).
