Men's Tennis Match with Portland State Canceled

Tentatively Rescheduled for Feb. 11 at Courthouse Tennis Center

SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University men's tennis match scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 8 against Portland State University has been canceled due to the weather. The match was originally scheduled to be played at Salishan Lodge in Gleneden Beach, Ore.

Willamette and Portland State have tentatively rescheduled the match for Tuesday, Feb. 11 at the Courthouse Tennis Center (1379 Madison St. NE) in Salem, Ore. The action is expected to get underway at 8:30 p.m. (PST).

The Bearcats, who compete in NCAA Division III, will be taking on their second NCAA Division I opponent of the season when the meet the Vikings. Willamette began the spring schedule with a loss to Eastern Washington University on Jan. 16.

WU is still scheduled to take on the University of Oregon Club on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 12 p.m. (PST) at the YMCA in Eugene, Ore. It is possible that the match may be canceled between now and Sunday morning due to the weather.

Jack Schreiber earned a 9-7 singles record for the Bearcats last season.
