SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University men's tennis player Gunnar Lee (Hilo, HI/St. Joseph School), who recently completed his sophomore season with the Bearcats, has earned ITA Scholar-Athlete status for the 2013-14 season as a result of his efforts in the classroom.

Lee, a Chemistry major (Biochemistry track), received the award for the second year in a row. Each ITA Scholar-Athlete was required to have at least a 3.5 grade point average during the academic year.

On the court, Lee competed in all 16 regular season matches for the Bearcats. He played primarily #5 and #6 singles, and mostly #2 doubles. In two seasons at Willamette, Lee has seen action in a total of 30 matches for Head Coach Rick Wood.
