SALEM, Ore. -- Rick Wood, who has been the head coach of the Willamette University men's tennis team since the 2012-13 season, has received additional duties as director of tennis. Wood, in his eighth year coaching the men's team, also will be the head coach of the women's tennis team. He begins his new duties immediately.

"We are very fortunate to have a coach like Rick be able to step in and lead both of our tennis programs," Willamette Director of Athletics Rob Passage said. "It is an opportunity for all of our tennis student-athletes to learn and develop under a consistent message."

"I am extremely happy with my expanded role and new position. I can not do this alone and appreciate the full support from the men's tennis team, my family and the Athletic Department," Wood said. "I am excited for both the women's tennis and men's tennis programs and look forward to being apart of the future success of our Bearcat players on and off the court."
