Snyder Ties for Third Place in High Jump at Oregon Twilight

EUGENE, Ore. -- Erica Snyder (So., Longview, WA/Mark Morris HS) of Willamette University cleared 5' 3.25" in the high jump and tied for third place at the Oregon Twilight on Friday, May 3 at Hayward Field. Whitley Stepp (So., Silverton, OR/Regis HS) also cleared 5' 3.25" and placed fifth.

Snyder was matched by Kayla Morgan from Corban University in the tie for third place in the high jump. with Morgan also clearing 5' 3.25". Snyder and Morgan edged out Stepp on fewer jumps.

Two high jumpers were successful at 5' 5.25" and had similar jumps. Isla Stewart, competing unattached, took first place on a jump off. Jenna Carpenter from Lewis-Clark State College (Idaho) lost in the jump off and placed second.

Also competing at the Oregon Twilight for the Willamette women's track and field team was Zoe Heino (So., Portland, OR/Mountainside HS) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Heino earned fourth place with a time of 11:27.56.

Willamette will participate in the Linfield Open on Saturday, May 4 in McMinnville, Oregon. Action is set to get underway at 10 a.m. PDT at Maxwell Field.
