Ho is Selected as NWC Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week

SALEM, Ore. -- Willamette University junior guard Carylyn Ho (Parker, CO/Ponderosa HS) has been named the Northwest Conference Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for her efforts in wins over Vancouver Island University (Canada) on Dec. 29 and Alma College (Mich.) on Dec. 30. The Bearcats defeated Vancouver Island, 83-59, and downed Alma, 61-46.

Ho averaged 14.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 blocked shots per game against the VIU Mariners and the Alma Scots. During the two games, she was 10 for 21 from the field (47.6%) and went 7 for 7 at the free throw line.

In the Bearcats' victory over Vancouver Island, Ho earned 15 points to go along with rebounds, four assists, and one blocked shot. Against Alma, she registered 13 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two blocked shots.

This season, Ho leads Willamette with 10.3 points per game. She has averaged 3.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.5 steals per contest. She has provided double-digit scoring against six of the Bearcats' opponents, including each of the last three games.

Willamette, now 6-5, on the season, will play at NWC rival Linfield University on Tuesday, Jan. 3. Game time in McMinnville, Oregon, is set for 6 p.m. (PST). The Bearcats will return to Cone Field House in Salem, Oregon, on Saturday, Dec. 7 to battle the University of Puget Sound. Tip-off against the Loggers is scheduled for 4 p.m.
