Hook Improves Round on Day Two of Pacific Lutheran Invitational

TACOMA, Wash. – Willamette University's Meghan Hook (Sr., Sunnyvale, CA/Homestead HS) dropped a stroke off her opening round, carding a 104 on Sunday, Sept. 19 on day two of the Pacific Lutheran Invitational.

Whitman College held off Whitworth University to claim the team title with a two-day total of 638. Whitworth trailed 315-316 after the first round and finished with 641 for the tournament. The host Lutes claimed the third spot with (333-332-665).

Bellevue's Sarah Lawrence turned in low rounds of 74 and 73 capture medalist honors with a 147. Lewis and Clark's Camryn Ford shaved three strokes off her first round to move into second (77-74-151), edging Bellevue's Tia Wolcott and Whitman's Katya Kurkoski (75-77), who tied for third at 152. Wolcott had a great outing on Sunday, improving six strokes with (79-73-152).  

The Bearcat women's golf team is next scheduled to compete in the Linfield University Invitational next weekend. The tournament will be played on Saturday, Sept. 25 and Sunday, Sept. 26 at the Michelbrook Country Club in McMinnville, Oregon.
