Srivastav Improves by Five Strokes on Second Day of Bushnell Fall Invitational

CRESWELL, Ore. -- First-year Willamette University women's golfer Anushka Srivastav (Pune, India/Mahindra International School) improved by five strokes on the second day of the Bushnell Fall Invitational to card a 92 over the final 18 holes of the 36-hole event. Srivastav shot a 97 in the first round and finished with an overall score of 189 for the tournament, which was held at the Emerald Valley Golf Club on Sunday, Oct. 17 and Monday, Oct. 18.

Meghan Hook (Sr., Sunnyvale, CA/Homestead HS) from Willamette shot a 103 in the second round and ended the 36 holes at 204. She shot a 101 in the first round on Sunday.

Alexandra Schmidt from Lewis-Clark State College (Idaho) won the individual title with a score of 3-over par 147. She shot a 71 in the first round and a 76 in the second round. Kristin Senatra of Corban University earned second place at 153 (78-75), leading Corban to a 2-3-4- finish in the standings. Delainey Rez from Corban placed third a 154 (77-77) and Kelly Dunn of Corban was fourth at 157 (81-76).

Kaylee Jones from College of Idaho placed fifth with a score of 163 (83-80). Nicole Propheter from Lewis-Clark State took sixth at 165 (82-85) and Deana Caruso, also from Lewis-Clark, was seventh at 167 (79-88). Kyla Currie of LCSC grabbed eighth place at 168 (88-80).

Corban won the team championship with a score of 640. The Warriors began the second round in second place by nine strokes at 328, but improved to 312 during the second round to win by three strokes. Lewis-Clark State, which led the team standing after 18 holes at 319, carded a score of 324 on Monday and finished in second place at 643. College of Idaho was third at 713 (350-363) and Bushnell University was fourth at 729 (353-366). Willamette, Simpson University (Calif.), and Skagit Valley College (Wash.) did not field a complete team.
