SALEM, Ore. -- Sydney Wilson (Jr., M, Olympia, WA/Capital HS) of Willamette University has been selected Northwest Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week for her performances in two games versus NWC rival Lewis & Clark College last week. The Bearcats edged out the Pioneers by a 4-3 score at Sparks Field on Wednesday, March 31, and downed L&C 3-1 in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday, April 3.

Wilson scored a total of three goals in the two games. She earned one goal in the mid-week victory and scored two goals in the win on Saturday. She took six shots during the week and placed four shots on goal. Wilson registered an assist against Linfield University earlier in the season and ranks third on the team with seven total points. She has started all seven games this season.

"Congratulations to Sydney for her stellar performances this last week," Willamette Head Women's Soccer Coach Hillary Arthur said. "Sydney's creativity in the midfield not only generates goal-scoring opportunities for her teammates, but also allows her to climb forward into the attack, scoring inside and outside the 18-yard box."

Willamette is 3-4 overall and 3-4 in the NWC. The Bearcats will finish the season on Thursday, April 8 when they play an NWC road game at George Fox University. Game time in Newberg, Oregon, is set for 4:30 p.m. (PDT).
