Alexa de Crinis Reaches Singles Consolation Final at ITA Northwest Regional

NEWBERG, Ore. -- Alexa de Crinis (So., Makawao, HI/Seabury Hall School) of Willamette University won her match in the "A" singles consolation semifinals before losing in the consolation final at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northwest Regional at George Fox University on Sunday, Oct. 1. The ITA Northwest Regional featured all eight women's tennis teams in the Northwest Conference.

As Sunday's competition got underway, de Crinis moved past Kaitlyn Canubida of Linfield University, 6-1, 7-5, in the semifinals of the "A" singles consolation bracket. In the consolation final, Susanna Anand of Lewis & Clark defeated de Crinis, 6-2, 6-2 to claim the consolation title.

The main bracket championships at the ITA Northwest Regional also were held on Sunday. In the "A" singles championship match, Cassidy Binder from Pacific University defeated her sister, Sydnie Binder of Pacific, 6-2, 6-1. The "B" singles championship was won by Valentina Casab-Klescova of Pacific, who downed Casey Hitch from George Fox in the final, 6-3, 6-2. In the doubles championship match, Binder and Binder combined to win the title with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Jin Olivia-Yu and Teleya Blunt from Whitman.

Willamette has completed the fall portion of its 2023-24 schedule.
