SALEM, Ore. -- Kaylen Higa (So., LIB/DS, Mililani, HI/Punahou School) of Willamette University has been selected to the Austin College Invitational All-Tournament Team. The tournament was held on Friday, Sept. 9 and Saturday, Sept. 10 in Sherman, Texas.

Higa averaged 6.14 digs per set, as she recorded 86 digs in 14 sets for the Bearcats. She also earned five service aces (0.36 avg.) and six assists (0.43 avg.).

She played in all four matches, and tied a career high with 27 digs in a 3-1 win over Sul Ross State University (Texas) on Friday. Higa achieved 27 digs twice last season, in matches against Pacific Lutheran University on Oct. 2, 2015 and Whitworth University on Nov. 6, 2015.

The Bearcats finished 1-3 during the tournament and are 2-6 overall. They will begin Northwest Conference action on Wednesday, Sept. 14, against archrival Linfield College. Match time at Cone Field House on the Willamette campus is scheduled for 7 p.m. (PDT).
