WU Soccer Players Compete on Successful Summer TeamsJuly 22, 2010SALEM, ORE. -- Several Willamette University men's soccer players have been competing for successful summer league teams. Mike McGrew (MF/F, Portland, OR/Grant HS), a sophomore in 2010-11, plays for the Westside Metros U19 Internationals, while Loftin Langsdorf (So., D/MF, Vancouver, WA/Columbia River High School and Timothy Ikehara-Martin (So., MF, Vancouver, WA/Heritage HS) play for the Columbia Premier Timbers.

Dineen is Selected Second Team All-Northwest ConferenceNovember 13, 2009SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University senior midfielder Casey Dineen (Portland, OR/Jesuit HS) has been selected Second Team All-Northwest Conference in voting by the NWC head coaches. WU players Luke Lagattuta (Sr., MF, Albuquerque, NM/Highland HS) and Erik Kaufman (So., F, Portland, OR/Grant HS) received Honorable Mention.

Whitworth Builds Early Lead in 5-2 Win over BearcatsOctober 31, 2009SALEM, ORE. -- Whitworth University scored three goals in the first 9:25 on its way to a 5-2 victory over Willamette University on Saturday, Oct. 31 at Sparks Field. WU recovered from the early deficit to battle the Pirates for much of the contest, cutting the lead to 3-1 before halftime and pulling within 4-2 in the 77th minute.

Willamette held Pacific scoreless through the first half on Saturday, Oct. 17, but was unable to stay with the Boxers in the second half. Willamette drops to 3-10-0 overall and 2-6-0 in the Northwest Conference. Pacific climbs to 10-2-1 overall and 6-1-1 in the NWC.

Linfield improved to 4-7-1 overall, 3-4 in the NWC. Willamette fell to 3-9 overall, 2-5 in the conference.

Kaufman is NWC Men's Soccer Student-Athlete of the WeekSeptember 29, 2009SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University sophomore forward Erik Kaufman (Portland, OR/Grant HS) has been named Northwest Conference Men's Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for his efforts in games played on Sept. 26 and 27. Kaufman scored a total of three goals and one assist as Willamette went 1-1 during the week.

James Kriticos of North Park tallied the game's only goal at 67:13, as the #23-ranked Vikings claimed a 1-0 win. North Park remained undefeated at 4-0, while Willamette fell to 1-3. All three losses have been by 1-0 scores.
