    McMINNVILLE, ORE. -- Willamette University held a 3-2 lead on #6-ranked Linfield College in the top of the third inning during their Northwest Conference Softball Tournament first round game on Friday, April 18, but the Wildcats scored five runs in the bottom of the inning and went on to defeat the Bearcats, 14-3 on the run rule in five innings.

Both games were played at the WU Softball Field, with each game ending on the run rule.

    McMINNVILLE, ORE. -- Linfield College received strong pitching performances from Karina Paavola and Shelby VandeBergh, as the Wildcats held off Willamette University for a pair of Northwest Conference wins, 4-1 and 2-1, on Saturday, April 12 at Del Smith Stadium. Paavola tossed a two-hitter in the first game and VandeBergh threw a five-hitter in the second game.

    SALEM, ORE. -- George Fox University has been declared the winner by a 9-2 final score in the softball game that was suspended due to darkness with two outs in the top of the seventh inning on Wednesday, April 9. The game was the second half of a doubleheader of makeup games. GFU won 14-5 in the first game, which lasted two and a half hours.

WU used nine hits, five L&C errors and 14 stolen bases to outscore the Pioneers.

The victory allowed the Bearcats to split with the Sagehens, who won 5-0 in the first game of the doubleheader.

Redlands won the second game, 11-3, on the run rule in five innings.
