Sra is Tied for 12th Place after First Round of NWC Tournament

SUNRIVER, Ore. -- Willamette University's Taneesh Sra (Sr., Fremont, CA/Mission San Jose HS) was tied for 12th place with a score of 81 after the first day of the 2016 NWC Tournament at Crosswater Golf Course in Sunriver, Oregon. Maddi Barnett (So., Boise, ID/Timberline HS) of Willamette was tied for 24th with an 86. A total of 42 golfers are participating in the women's competition.

Championship Information

George Fox University led the team standings at 302. Whitman College was second at 310, while Lewis & Clark College was third at 312. Whitworth University held fourth place at 322, with Pacific Lutheran University in fifth at 339. Linfield College was sixth at 359, Pacific University was seventh at 402, and University of Puget Sound was eighth at 405. Willamette did not enter a complete team.

Three golfers were tied for first place. Syndey Maluenda and Hailey Ostrom of George Fox University, along with Shiyang Fan from Whitman, each shot a 73 to top the leaderboard.

Iris Kawada of GFU and Mady Rhodenbaugh of Lewis & Clark shared fourth place in the standings at 74. Chelsea Bayley from Whitworth and Annie McCutchan from L&C shot 77s and were tied for sixth place.

Sra's 81 placed her just two strokes out of the top 10. She was tied for 12th with four other golfers.

The NWC Tournament will conclude with the final 18 holes on Sunday, April 24.
