SALEM, Ore. -- The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Executive Board has been elected at Willamette University for the 2024-25 athletic year. Each fall and spring at Willamette, the SAAC Executive Board features six student-athletes who lead the SAAC during meetings and oversee projects throughout the fall, winter, and spring athletic seasons. Co-presidents for 2024-25
Co-presidents for 2023-24 will be Tenley Grant (Sr., Longview, WA/Kelso HS) from the women's track and field team and Morgan Shaw (So., Redmond, OR/Ridgeview HS), from the women's cross country and women's track and field teams. It will be Grant's second year as a Willamette SAAC Executive Board member. Shaw will serve on the NCAA Division III National Student Athlete-Advisory Committee (NSAAC) as a representative for the Northwest Conference (NWC) and the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC).
The secretary of the Willamette SAAC in 2024-25 will be Maggie Sawyer (Jr., G, Boise, ID/Borah HS) from the women's basketball team and the softball team. Lecia Sincere (Sr., G, Bremerton, WA/Central Kitsap HS) from women's basketball team and the women's track and field team will serve as the communications director and Nolan Wright (So., Fall City, WA/Mount Si HS) from the men's track and field team will serve as the service and philanthropy coordinator. Elyse Waldal (Sr., F, Snohomish, WA/Glacier Peak HS/Linfield University) from women's basketball will be the At-Large member of the Willamette SAAC Executive Board.
"Our incoming SAAC Executive Board is made up of a great group of passionate Bearcats. I'm looking forward to working with Tenley, Morgan, Maggie, Elyse, Lecia, and Nolan next year," Willamette Director of Swimming and SAAC Advisor Brent Summers said. "I believe Tenley and Morgan will do a fantastic job of leading SAAC as our co-presidents and work with the rest of the Executive Board - Maggie, Elyse, Lecia, and Nolan - to bring many new initiatives and opportunities for our student-athletes and the larger Willamette and Salem communities."
Outgoing members of the Willamette SAAC Executive Board are co-presidents Ryan Johns from the football team and Ashley Collins from the women's basketball team, secretary Jordyn Johnson from softball, communications director Reagan Wyatt from the cheerleading team, service and philanthropy coordinator William LaDuca from men's swimming, and Grant, who was the at-large member.
