(GENERAL) SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University's baseball and softball games on Sunday, Feb. 25 have been canceled. The baseball team, which split a doubleheader at Cal State-East Bay on Saturday, Feb. 24, was scheduled to play a single game at East Bay on Sunday, but the game was canceled due to weather and will not be made up. In Saturday's games, Willamette won the opener, 13-4, behind the strong pitching of Tye Sundlee, and CSU-East Bay won the second game, 8-1.

WU's softball team was originally scheduled to play Lewis & Clark College in a doubleheader on Saturday. Rain forced the games to be moved to Sunday, but Sunday's weather also forced a cancellation. The teams plan to make up the Northwest Conference doubleheader, but no date has been chosen at this time.

Both teams are at home next weekend. The baseball squad will take on defending NWC champion George Fox University on Saturday, Feb. 3, in a doubleheader at 11 a.m. (PST), and will play the Bruins again on Sunday, Feb. 4, with a single game at 12 p.m. (PST). The Willamette softball team will host Linfield College in a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 12 p.m. (PST), before traveling to Linfield on Sunday, Feb. 4 for another doubleheader at 12 p.m. (PST).
