(ATHLETICS GENERAL) SALEM, ORE. -- Several changes have been made to the Willamette University athletic schedule for the weekend of Friday, March 9 through Sunday, March 11. The changes involve baseball, track and field and women's tennis.

The Willamette track and field teams will be hosting the Willamette Mini Meet, which will start at 10 a.m. (PST) on Saturday, March 10. Other teams competing at the Charles Bowles Track will be Clackamas Community College, Lane Community College, Mount Hood Community College, Portland State University and Western Oregon University. Earlier schedules listed Willamette as competing at Mount Hood CC and Lewis & Clark College.

Willamette will play Menlo College in a three-game series in baseball. The first game, set for Friday, March 9, will be played at 2:30 p.m. (PST), half an hour earlier than originally scheduled. WU and Menlo will play a doubleheader on Saturday, March 10, starting at 11 a.m. (PST) and will not play on Sunday, unless the weather postpones one or more games. The teams originally were scheduled to play one game on Saturday and one game on Sunday.

The WU women's tennis team has moved its Northwest Conference match against George Fox University, set for Friday, March 9, from the WU Tennis Courts outdoors to the indoor courts at the Courthouse Tennis Club (1339 Madison NE in Salem, Ore.). Match time has been changed to 7 p.m. (PST). Willamette will host the University of Puget Sound on Saturday, March 10, either at the WU Tennis Courts at 11 a.m., as originally scheduled, or at the Courthouse Tennis Club at 4 p.m. (PST) if necessary due to the weather.
