SALEM, ORE. -- Due to a scheduling oversight that exceeded by one game the NCAA Division III baseball 40-game limit, Willamette University is canceling the first game of its Northwest Conference series at Pacific University this coming weekend under instructions from the NWC Commissioners Office. As per NCAA rules, the cancellation will be treated as a forfeit win for Pacific and will be listed as a no contest for Willamette.

The weekend series will now consist of three games. Willamette and Pacific will play one nine-inning game on Saturday, April 26, starting at 12 p.m. (PDT) and will conclude the series with two seven-inning games on Sunday, April 27. The double-header on Sunday will begin at 12 p.m. (PDT). All three games will be played at Chuck Bafaro Stadium in Forest Grove, Ore.

Neither team plays until Saturday. Willamettes record entering the series will remain at 18-19 overall, 14-14 in the NWC. Pacific will improve to 19-18 overall, 16-13 in the NWC.

Willamette and Pacific will play one game on Saturday and two games on Sunday.
