Hit .417 for Bearcats during 2011 Season

SALEM, ORE. -- Senior left fielder T.C. Lee (Lafayette, CA/Acalanes HS) of Willamette University has been selected Second Team All-America by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) for his efforts throughout the 2011 season.

Lee led the Bearcats with a .417 batting average, 44 runs scored and 44 RBIs. He led the Northwest Conference with a .785 slugging percentage, 12 home runs and 113 total bases. In addition, he tied for the NWC lead with five sacrifice flies. He concluded the year ranked second in the NWC in batting average, runs and RBIs.

Overall, Lee achieved 60 hits to tie for fourth on WU's single season list. He also provided the Bearcats with 15 doubles, one triple and 22 walks, while earning a .497 on-base percentage. In left field, he registered 79 putouts and six assists. He earned a .966 fielding percentage.

At the end of his four seasons with the Bearcats, Lee ranked second all-time at Willamette with a .368 career batting average, 201 hits, 45 doubles and 34 home runs. He hit over .300 all four years, while playing in 151 games with 147 starts. He ranked fourth in career at bats (546), runs (131) and RBIs (131). He was 10th in walks with 72.

This year, Lee was named Honorable Mention All-America by D3baseball.com and was selected First Team All-West Region by the ABCA. He received First Team All-NWC recognition for the second year in a row (2010, 2011).

Lee was chosen Second Team All-NWC in 2008 and was Honorable Mention All-NWC in 2009. He was named NWC Hitter Student-Athlete of the Week on May 3, 2011 for his efforts during the final week of the season.

His efforts helped the Bearcats finish 2011 with a 22-17-1 overall record. Willamette was 12-12 in the Northwest Conference.

Lee ranked sixth in the nation in NCAA Division III with his 12 home runs and was eighth in Division III in home runs per game (0.30) and slugging percentage (.785).

Lee's statistics in 2011 placed him third on the Bearcats' single season list for doubles and placed him fourth in runs, hits, and home runs. His batting average ranked fifth all-time for a single season at Willamette and his RBI total was eighth.

He played in all 40 games this spring and earned at least one hit in 34 games. Lee recorded two or more hits 18 times, while claiming two or more RBIs 12 times and scoring two or more runs 11 times.
