Rain Forces Delayed Start to Northwest Conference Games
SALEM, ORE. -- The Northwest Conference baseball series, between Willamette University and Pacific University, originally scheduled for Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1, has been moved to Sunday and Monday due to the significant rainfall in Salem, Ore., over the past several days.
The Bearcats and the Boxers will open the three-game series with a doubleheader on Sunday, April 1 starting at 12 p.m. (PDT) at John Lewis Field. Willamette and Pacific will conclude the series with a single game at John Lewis Field on Monday, April 2. The start time for Monday's game has not been determined, although it is likely to be in the 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. range.
Willamette heads into the NWC series with an 8-15 overall record, including 5-7 in the conference. Pacific is 10-9 overall, 7-2 in the NWC.
The Boxers have played all nine NWC games on their home field, including three games against George Fox University that were originally scheduled to be played at GFU, but were moved due to the weather.
