Daly is Chosen for D3baseball.com Team of the Week after Series with Blues

SALEM, Ore. -- Samuel Daly (So., RF, El Dorado Hills, CA/Jesuit HS) from Willamette University has been chosen for the D3baseball.com Team of the Week for the seven days ending on Sunday, April 18. The selection of Daly occurred shortly after he was named Northwest Conference Baseball Position Player Student-Athlete of the Week.

Daly hit .714 with a 1.571 slugging percentage, nine runs scored, and 12 RBIs, as Willamette won all four games against Whitman during an NWC series on April 17 and April 18. He registered at least two hits and two runs in each game, and finished the weekend with four doubles, a triple, and two home runs. He belted his two homers in the first game and pounded two doubles in the third game. He earned a .688 on-base percentage. Willamette scored 43 runs in the four games.

Willamette defeated Whitman 12-8 and 11-9 on Saturday and downed the Blues 9-6 and 11-0 on Sunday. The final game of the series ended on the run rule in five innings. The Bearcats are 23-9 overall, 17-7 in the NWC.

This spring, Daly has smacked 11 homers, plus 12 doubles and three triples. He is hitting .439 for the season (50 of 114) and leads Willamette with 26 extra-base hits. He is tied for the team lead with 42 RBIs and ranks second on the squad with 36 runs scored.

Willamette will take on Northwest Conference rival Linfield University on Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24. The series will begin with a doubleheader on Friday at 12 p.m. (PDT) and will conclude with a doubleheader on Saturday, also at 12 p.m.
