SALEM, Ore. -- Tassos Foster (Sr., 2B, Novato, CA/Novato HS) of Willamette University has been chosen Third Team All-Region 10 at second base for the 2024 season as determined by D3baseball.com. The All-Region Team included a total of 42 players, with 14 named to the First Team, 14 selected for the Second Team, and 14 chosen for the Third Team.

Willamette placed second in the Northwest Conference in the regular season, won the NWC Tournament Championship, and qualified for the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Bearcats concluded the season with a 29-16 record, including 15-9 in the NWC. Willamette fell to Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (Calif.), 3-1, in a best-of-five NCAA Regional series in Claremont, California.

The Bearcats hit .296 for the season, with 90 doubles, seven triples, and 49 home runs, while averaging 8.1 runs per game. WU achieved a .410 team on-base percentage after walking 236 times and being hit by 86 pitches. The pitching staff has achieved a 4.47 team earned run average with 379 strikeouts in 395 innings.

Third Team All-Region 10

Headshot of Tassos Foster Tassos Foster (Sr., 2B) was named Third Team All-Region 10 for the first time. He was chosen Second Team All-NWC this season. He was a consistent hitter for the Bearcats and batted .350 for the season. During one portion of the schedule, he hit .422 from March 30 through May 12.

He ranked first for Willamette this year with 180 at bats, 63 hits, 55 runs, 15 doubles, and 37 walks. He earned 31 RBIs and was 7 for 9 on stolen bases. He was a combined 5 for 9 in Willamette's last two games in the NWC Tournament. On defense, he provided 84 putouts, 100 assists, and 23 double plays. He started a triple play against Whitman on May 6 by catching a low line-drive, tagging second, and throwing to first.

Foster owns a .333 career batting average, with 68 runs, 44 RBIs, and three home runs. He was 13 of 17 on stolen bases. His defensive efforts led to 110 putouts, 129 assists, and 31 double plays.
