SALEM, Ore. -- The Willamette University season opener in football, set for McCulloch Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 3 against Pomona-Pitzer (Calif.), has been moved to 11 a.m. (PDT), one hour earlier than originally scheduled. Pomona-Pitzer's return flight to California was rescheduled, so the game time was changed.

Willamette competes in the Northwest Conference and the Sagehens are members of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC). Both teams compete in NCAA Division III.

The game against Pomona-Pitzer is the first of two back-to-back home contests for the Bearcats to open the season. Willamette will take on the University of La Verne, also from the SCIAC, on Saturday, Sept. 10 at McCulloch Stadium, starting at 12 p.m. (PDT).

Willamette will play three additional home games, all in the NWC. The Bearcats are set to host George Fox University on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 1 p.m., before taking on Whitworth University in Salem on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 1 p.m., and then closing out the regular season against the University of Puget Sound on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m.
