Willamette Ready to Host Capital City Classic in Men's Basketball

Bearcats Play Montana Tech at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 25

SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University men's basketball team will host the 2011 Capital City Classic on Friday, Nov. 25 and Saturday, Nov. 26 at Cone Field House. Joining Willamette in the tournament are Corban University, Montana Tech and Western Oregon University.

During all four games, Live Stats will be available on the Willamette Athletics Website, allowing fans to follow the progress of the game as well as statistics. Please note that the games will not be webcast.

In the first round on Friday, Corban and Western Oregon will meet in the tournament opener at 5 p.m. (PST). Willamette will take on Montana Tech in the other first round match-up at 7 p.m. (PST).

On Saturday, the the winners from the first round will meet for the tournament championship at 7 p.m. (PST). The evening will begin with the losers from the first round playing in the consolation game at 5 p.m. (PST).

The Bearcats begin the tournament with a 1-1 record after splitting a pair of games at the Calvin Tipoff Tournament in Grand Rapids, Mich., on Nov. 18-19. Willamette outscored D'Youville College (N.Y.), 108-101, before losing to Calvin, 81-76, in the championship game.
