SALEM, Ore. -- Brandon "Bubba" Luedtke (Sr., F, Meridian, ID/Mountain View HS) from the Willamette University men's basketball team has been named Second Team All-Northwest Conference in voting by the NWC head coaches. It is the third consecutive year that Luedtke has received All-NWC recognition.

In 2013-14, Luedtke was chosen Honorable Mention All-NWC. As a junior in 2014-15, he was selected First Team All-NWC and was named Second Team All-West Region by D3hoops.com.

"Being named to the All-NWC Team is a tremendous honor for Bubba as it is a testimony to the level of respect his performance has gained from the other coaches in our league," Willamette Head Coach Kip Ioane said. "Despite playing all year through injury, he was still able to have an impact on every game and I'm very happy the other coaches in the NWC recognized that."

A total of 16 athletes were included on the 2016 All-NWC Men's Basketball Team. Six players were selected for the First Team, with five players on the Second Team and five players earning honorable mention.

George Valle of Whitworth University was chosen as the NWC Men's Basketball Player of the Year. Head Coach Eric Bridgeland from Whitman College was named NWC Men's Basketball Coach of the Year.

This season, Luedtke led the Bearcats with 277 points and 249 rebounds, as he averaged 11.1 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. He ranked first in the NWC in rebounds per game and was 39th in the NCAA in total rebounds. He ranked 48th in the nation in rebounds per game and as 14th in defensive rebounds per game (7.96).

Luedtke recorded 10 or more points in 19 of Willamette's 25 games. He started every game and earned 10 double-doubles during the season.

In 2014-15, Luedtke topped Willamette with 14.1 points per game and led the NWC with 9.4 rebounds per contest. He set a Willamette record with 2.6 steals per game. In 2013-14, he averaged 10.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per game.

During his career with the Bearcats, Luedtke scored 914 points, earned 730 rebounds, recorded 154 assists and produced 143 steals. He shot 52.6% from the field, hitting 359 of 683 attempts. He played in 95 games with 68 starts.

Willamette finished the 2015-16 season with an 8-17 overall record, including a 5-11 record in the NWC. The Bearcats went to overtime against eventual NWC champion Whitworth University on Jan. 15 before losing 81-77. WU defeated archrival Linfield College, 70-68, on Jan. 9, and ended the season by rallying from a 17-point halftime deficit on Feb. 19 to down Lewis & Clark College, 74-69.
