Bearcats Place First through Seventh, as Willamette Wins Spring Trilogy #3

KEIZER, Ore. -- Willamette University men's golfers earned the top seven finishes in the individual standings as Willamette won the team title at the Spring Trilogy #3 on Saturday, April 2 at McNary Golf Club. Austin Davis (Sr., Culver City, CA/Culver City HS) led the Bearcats by taking first place with a 1-under par 69, while Andrew Kibbee (Sr., Kenmore, WA/Bothell HS) places second with a 73. Willamette's team score was 296 on the par 70 course, which played at 6,230 yards. Linfield University was second at 328. Lewis & Clark did not enter a full team.

Davis and Kibbee were followed by five of their teammates. Alex Weirth (Sr., Port Orchard, WA/Crosspoint Academy) was third with a 76. Paxton Jones (Fy., Wellington, NZ/Scots College) and Riley Lankford (Sr., Pilot Rock, OR/Pilot Rock HS) tied for fourth place at 78. Carlos Cortes Dequidt (Jr., San Diego, CA/Torrey Pines HS) and Jack McMullin (So., Seattle, WA/Roosevelt HS) each shot a 79 to tie for sixth.

Three Linfield golfers tied for eighth place with matching 80s. They were Alexandre Collard, Bryce Hatcher, and Trevor Price.

Also competing for Willamette were Aunders Erickson (Grad., Portland, OR/Westview HS/Ohio Wesleyan Univ.), Andrew Cerqui (Fy., Seattle, WA/Bishop Blanchet HS), and Hogan Smith (Fy., Prineville, OR/Crook County HS). Erickson shot 84, Cerqui carded an 85, and Smoth shot 90.

The Bearcats will compete at the Northwest Conference Spring Classic at the Oakbrook Golf Course in Tacoma, Washington, on Saturday, April 9 and Sunday, April 10. The University of Puget Sound will host the 36-hole event.
