Bearcats Improve by 17 Strokes on Day Two of George Fox Invite, Finish Fourth

Molalla, Ore. - Alexandar Papajohn shot a three-under-par 68 on Day Two of the George Fox Invite to help Willamette improve by seventeen strokes over the opening day and move the Bearcats into fourth place in the final standings.  Papajohn ended the two-day event with a total of 145 to finish tied for eighth place.  Teammate Oliver Smith finished fourth overall, carding a 72 on Tuesday to follow his opening round 71.  

The three other Bearcats competing in the team competition all improved on their opening-round scores.  Brock Olson shot a second-round 72 after shooting a 79 in the first round, while Jack Carr and Kyler Phillips each recorded rounds of 74 on Tuesday.  

Playing as an individual, Paxton Jones had a 73 in the second round to finish at a total of 145 and tie with Papajohn for eighth place.  Connor Murphy shot a 74 to improve by nine strokes from the first round.  Other scores in the final round were Lucas Paul at 81 and Benedikt Morsch at 84.

Willamette has next weekend off and will return to action on Saturday, April 5th, and Sunday, April 6th, when they travel to Walla Walla for the NWC Spring Classic, hosted by Whitman College.
